Early Entry Fees: Due to the increase in gas prices, we thought we'd offer our exhibitors the opportunity of lower early entry fees. Fees will be $40.00 for unlimited entry and $20.00 for exhibitors with show strings of 20 horses or less (horses can be from any division or combination of divisions). In order to receive the early entry fee rate, entries must either be postmarked no later than April 7, 2008 or paid for through Paypal no later than April 7.
Regular Entry Fees: From April 8, 2008 until the official closing date Tuesday, May 6, 2008, the Regular Entry Fee will be $45.00 for unlimited entries and $25.00 for exhibitors with show strings of 20 horses or less (horses can be from any division or combination of divisions). Regular and Early Entry Fees can be paid by check, money order or online through Paypal. If paying through Paypal, please pay to the following account: bootimer@glis.net and either E-mail your entry information (including box lunch preference where applicable) to DetRockCityLive@aol.com or mail to: Denise Olejniczak, Detroit Rock City Live! Show, P. O. Box 327, Romeo, Michigan 48065. Please make all checks or money orders payable to: Denise Olejniczak. There will be a $25.00 service charge for all checks returned for non-sufficient funds.
The 20 horse limit will be strictly enforced for limited entries. Although the full entry has no limit, it is the personal responsibility of the exhibitor to limit their entries to a manageable number.
Awards: Flat ribbons will be awarded for first through tenth place in each class, and Honorable Mention at judge's discretion. Each Champion and Reserve Champion (including Breyer Overall) will receive a 10 inch rosette utilizing the show color scheme with Overall Grand Champions and Overall Reserve Grand Champions receiving 16 inch rosettes. Original Finish and Custom/Artist Resin entrants will not compete with one another for Overall Championships. Therefore, two separate Overall Grand and Reserve Championships will be awarded. Double flat ribbons will be given to those winning Awards of Merit.
Since the Breyer Division has so many classes, we have divided it into Individual Breed Champions and Reserves (i.e. Light Breeds, Draft Breeds, etc.). Breyer Individual Breed Champions and Reserves will receive double flat ribbons in the show color scheme. These Champions and Reserves will compete for Overall Breyer Breed Champion and Reserve and Awards of Merit.
In addition to rosettes, all Champions will receive an Official 12.5 oz. Souvenir 134th Kentucky Derby Mint Julep Glass. All Reserve Champions will receive an equine-themed magnet. Overall Grand Champions and Reserves will receive a Australian Lunar Series "Year of the Horse" .999 pure fine silver coins. Champions will receive a 1 oz coin and Reserves a 1/2 oz coin.
When final cuts are made, judges will be giving out small trinkets at their discretion for their favorites. These trinkets should be taken and saved by the exhibitors. Small prizes will be awarded to the exhibitor that collects the most and the least trinkets at the show.
Class Sponsorships: $1.00 per class. $10.00 per champion/reserve. Please consider sponsorships. The more we defray costs through donations, the more we can donate to the Secretariat Foundation and Wildlife Warriors.
Halter Rules & Tips:
There is a three horse per class limit per exhibitor in every class with the exception of mini which has a limit of four per class.
The OF Plastic Vintage Division is for any plastic horse produced prior to 1988, this includes Breyers, Hartlands, etc.
The OF Plastic Specialty Division is for models falling into any of these categories: test, one of a kind, raffle, judges, helpers, and runs of 30 or less.
Factory Customs such as those found in the Signature Series will show in OF Stone Breed.
Woodgrains and Decorators will show in their respective division.
We encourage exhibitors to display breed information with their horses, most particularly in the case of rare breeds so the judge may make an informed decision.
For Vintage, Specialty and Woodgrain/Decorator Divisions, exhibitors may place an index card with any pertinent information you think the judge needs to know (i.e., this is a test run for . . . ).
Since we do not have a Finish Division, the Vintage, Specialty and Woodgrain/Decorator Divisions are judged not only on breed, but finish and rarity.
We ask that all foals and minis show in their respective divisions, but if they are eligible for the OF Vintage, Specialty or Woodgrain/Decorator, they must show in those divisions.
Please Note: The Vintage and Specialty Divisions are breed classes. Each horse may only show in one division. No cross entering is allowed.
All horses entered in the show must be tagged. On one side, please write the horse's breed and gender. On the other side, please write the horse's name and your initials. Tags which are placed with the wrong side facing up once the classes close will be disqualified. Judge's will make every attempt to allow exhibitors to flip their tags over properly before any disqualification.
We have one tip we would like to offer from judges' of our previous shows: Please make sure that your models are well dusted or bathed on show day, especially if they are shelf pieces. We know full well that static is always in the air and it is often hard to keep a dark horse dust free at shows. However, the condition of the horse falls within the judging criteria, especially in large classes with entries of equal quality. Don't let the dust bunnies hold you back!

Exhibitor Rules:
Sportsmanship Rules:
Judging: In the interest of good sportsmanship and to avoid the appearance of conflict of interest and hard feelings among exhibitors as well as a smooth judging process, we have instituted the following guidelines for our judging:
Judges will not show in the division they are judging.
Judges who enter will not be allowed to actively show their own entries while judging. If a judge enters the show, he or she may set up their table prior to the start of judging. However, they may not leave the judging area to put their horses in their classes. They may have a friend, family member, etc., to manage their entries once the judging process has begun. Once the judge's assignment has been completed, they may return to their table and show their own horses. This provision promotes a smooth and consistent flow in class judging so that we can all get home at a reasonable hour.
Judges will examine all horses in a respective class before any choices are made regarding placements.
Judges will not flip tags at any time during the judging process. Ribbons will be placed next to the class winners and placers. Tags will then be flipped only for the purpose of recording placements. Once tags are flipped, no ribbons, NAN cards or placements can be changed.
Champions, Reserves and Overalls will be judged solely at the judge or judging panel's discretion.
Wherever possible, a scribe will be provided for judges so that classes will be judged and recorded as quickly as possible.
In large classes, judges at their own discretion may choose to split the class or make a first cut in their classes by placing a black horse and jockey token in front of the horses they wish to remain for final judging in that respective class. When announced, exhibitors should remove all unmarked horses from the ring. However, please leave the tokens! When final cuts are made, judges will be giving out small prizes at their discretion for their favorites. These prizes may be taken by the exhibitors. Make sure to save them as we will be giving a prize for the exhibitor that collects the most and the least tokens at the show.
Judges will not hold up classes. Once a class is closed and judging has begun, no horses may be added to that class. We have a PA System and each class will be announced several times before closing. Exhibitors are solely responsible for getting their horses to the ring on time.
Judges, at their own discretion, may disqualify any Original Finish horse which they feel has been noticeably restored. The exhibitor has the right to file a protest at that time which will be decided by a panel of other judges.
Scribes: We are asking for volunteers to act as scribes for our judges. Those who volunteer will receive a $25 discount on their entry fee and a free lunch. If you wish to volunteer, please contact us by E-mail at DetRockCityLive@aol.com or by mail: Denise Olejniczak, Detroit Rock City Live! Show, P. O. Box 327, Romeo, Michigan 48065. The deadline for applying for scribe positions is Tuesday, May 6, 2008.

The ticket is the sole proof of qualification and cannot be replaced if lost or if a member show neglects to distribute them. Tickets must be sent to the new owner if a model is sold.
