Auction Item # 1: Secretariat by Fred Stone. This is a collector's plate and first issue in the Best of Fred Stone - Racing Series . . . produced exclusively for American Artists. The plate is not only signed by the artist, but also Secretariat's jockey Ron Turcotte and breeder/owner Mrs. Penny Chenery. The plate is number 45 of 1973 (the number which represents the year Secretariat won the Triple Crown) signed by Ron Turcotte and is written on the plate right next to his signature. Mrs. Chenery signed this plate expressly for the Detroit Rock City Live! 2009 Show and autographed the original box as proof of authenticity. The plate also comes with the original certificate of authenticity from American Artists. The plate is approximately 8 1/2 inches in diameter.
This Secretariat plate is a unique collector's
item and is only one of two that I am aware of that is signed by both Ron
